This edition by Marguerite Humeau was produced by Nottingham Contemporary on the occasion of the exhibition FOXP2, 2016. The artists first major solo show in a UK museum. 

This work references microscopic images of a mutated FOXP2 gene – the protein gene that is essential for human development of speech and language.

All profits raised from the sale of this limited-edition work support Nottingham Contemporary’s free programme of exhibitions, educational activities and research programmes.

Marguerite Humeau (b. 1986) is a French born, London based artists whose work can be found in museums collections such as the Tate Collection, Centre Pompidou, Paris, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin, MoMA, New York, Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris and X Museum, Beijing. 

Her research led process typically takes the form of large-scale installations involving sound and abstract form sculpture. Humeau has described herself as an “Indiana Jones in Google times.”
